Schedule:
This schedule will change and adapt to the needs
of the class as we progress throughout the semester. Readings in both
The Way of the Storyteller and
specially Educating Esme will cover the course of the semester.
Also, you will need to read through The
Book of Lulu at your convenience throughout the semester so long
as you have it completed by Thursday, October 7.

How can I use what I learned
in my elementary classroom with my students?
"Storytelling as an Approach to Children's Books and Reading"
Even though most of the titles she uses are
outdated, think about the subject matter of the books and if they
would appeal to children of today. Why or why not? What does appeal
to children today in regards to stories and picture books (this
could be answered in terms of content or presentation)? How do you
get reluctant readers to read? How is storytelling used in your
school? In what ways are stories told to the students you interact
with? Do they only receive stories at school? Where else?
