Schedule:
This schedule will change and adapt to the needs
of the class as we progress throughout the semester. Readings in Educating
Esme will cover the course of the semester.

Made Simple". As a group, come up with one standard way
and one creative way to teach one class of children and one class
of adults your grammatical character.
Sign up on the listserv by Tuesday night
at midnight. Do not use an aol or hotmail account -- use your ufl.edu
account. To sign up on the listserve, email s05-2202-request@clas.ufl.edu.
Be sure and type "subscribe" in the body of the email
text to sign up. If you email s05-2202@clas.ufl.edu, you will be

Discuss online basics and looking at literacy
narratives online. Webpage one: your literacy narrative geared either
toward an audience of your elemetary class, your student's parents,
or your principal and fellow teachers.

fiction or non-fiction, that has technology in it or addesses technology.
It can be a very subtle use of technology (like only visible in
the illustrations) or it can be a primary component to the story.

How can I use what I learned

What does appeal to children today in regards to stories and picture
books (this could be answered in terms of content or presentation)?
How do you get reluctant readers to read? How is storytelling used
in your school? In what ways are stories told to the students you
interact with? Do they only receive stories at school? Where else?
Use Educating Esme for sample students to
write letters about.
Discuss audience and classroom experiences
for possible letter topics.

Make sure that your letter is formatted correctly for your rough
draft since this is one area we will be checking in the peer review
session.

some form or fashion.
