Tuesday: Introduction to NWE; diagnostic essay; media

Wednesday: Diagnostic Essay due today; Introduction to technology: Blogs and Wikis (password: media); assign personal wiki page; sign-up for gradebook; discuss diagnostic essay; discuss reflection journal/reading notes; play Pikmin2
HW - design personal wiki page (due Monday); Read Chapter 1 Introduction in Gee (in wiki); begin keeping reflection journal/reading notes (continue this throughout the semester)

Thursday: Discuss Gee's Introduction
HW - Read Chapter 2 Semiotic Domains in Gee [very, very important chapter - read very carefully!]; Read to May 4, page 108 in Confessions; finish personal wiki page

Thursday: peer edit Diary Semiotic Domains paper
HW - continue working on group project; polish Diary Semiotic Domains Paper; read Gee Chapter 6 (pages 139-152) by Monday thinking particularly about how this chapter relates to your reaction of Diary. After reading Gee, visit Phoebe Gloeckner's home page and read a short interview with Gloeckner and a book review of Diary and then reflect back on Gee and Diary and your reaction to Diary. Does this information affect your reading or Diary?
