Jessica Simpson, from the MTV reality show The Newlyweds, exemplifies the fool character. She is constantly overwhelmed and confused. Fool stories usually have a comic punch line mocking the fool’s lack of intelligence, and on Newlyweds, Simpson’s every statement seems like a joke. She is incredibly gullible and has little common sense. From thinking that buffalo wings are really buffalo meat to not understanding the term ‘chicken of the sea,’ Jessica Simpson never disappoints our expectation that she’ll blurt out something unbelievably ridiculous.
