about it?
Capote writes his own book of ethics.
He lies to Smith and Hickock about the title of his book, and he is not completely honest with anyone, not even himself.
No matter what, all reporters have a mess of notes.
Whether its crumpled napkins and sugar packets covered in scribblings, or simply a person's mangled personality, notetaking is messy.
Because he uses no napkins or notebooks, Capote's reporting practices take their psychological toll.
The goal of any reporter is to remain impartial. Capote flirts with crossing the line by becoming emotionally attached to his subjects. This only augments the tangled web of his mind.
His unorthodox reporting style makes Truman Capote unique, and it is simply amazing he was able to successfully write his book.
However, these styles will certainly never be taught in any journalism school any time soon.
