However, with Capote, pretension, confidence and a lack or respect or acknowledgement of authority are what allow him to succeed.
Because Capote knows from the beginning his book will be a success, he does not waste time doubting himself or his information.
Capote's way of handling the publication process is quite similar with how he handles the reporting process, all by himself.
Although this process leads to extremely successful writing, it also has one major casualty: Capote himself.
