Kara Blackmore

My name is Kara Blackmore and I am a Junior at the University of Florida. I am perusing a major in Anthropology and a minor in African Studies. I took this class because I wanted to further my knowledge in folklore. Folklore symbolizes the adhesive in primitive culture. It functions to teach people about their culture’s belief systems and ways of life. I would like to be an ethno archaeologist and observe culture change in the African Diaspora. Folklore is a vital aspect of my studies. In this class I focused on African and African American folklore to analyze social behavior and ideologies. I would like to complete a P.H.D in Anthropology and teach students about cultures (especially the folklore associated with them).
